FIFA 22 Will Let You Ignore Opposing Team's Goal Celebrations
A new camera option coming in FIFA 22 will allow players to focus on their own team rather than view their opponent's goal celebration.
A new camera setting in FIFA 22 will allow players to ignore their opponents' goal celebrations. The upcoming soccer simulator will be the series' latest annual release, and it's been touting changes and improvements over FIFA 21.
As all annualized sports games do, the upcoming FIFA 22 is set to expand on the games that came before it. A FIFA 22 gameplay trailer broke down some improvements in July, including advanced player animation techniques. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of FIFA 22 will take advantage of their upgraded hardware in order to inch the game closer to photorealistism. HyperMotion Technology will utilize a combination of motion capture and machine learning to perfectly replicate real-world soccer stars. Additionally, enhanced player AI will cause rival players behave more realistically, and enhanced ball physics will make the game play out like a closer approximation to a soccer match. Though the mode was the subject of recent industry controversies, the latest EA deep dive also revealed changes coming to FIFA Ultimate Team in FIFA 22, as its progression system and season setup are being streamlined.
Tuesday's FIFA 22 Pitch Notes from EA has revealed the existence of new Celebration Camera settings. In previous FIFA titles, conceding a goal would force players to watch their opponents celebrate the victory. However, the new setting will allow players to ignore the opposing team's goal celebrations to instead watch their own team react. The game will still focus on the scoring team's reaction by default, but changing the setting will make the camera instead focus on their own team from then on.
Due to the series' annualized schedule, many players have criticized the FIFA series for a lack of innovation between games. However, a recent Screen Rant gameplay preview of FIFA 22 reveals that this year's release does make meaningful changes over FIFA 21. The game's HyperMotion technology succeeds in creating a truly realistic soccer simulation, and improved artificial intelligence allows computer-controlled players to put up a real challenge. This multitude of improvements allows FIFA 22 to soar above its contemporaries.
FIFA 22 is implementing a number of new mechanics and features to improve the player's experience. While hyper-realistic graphics and animations is always nice, quality-of-life options are what will truly make or break this year's FIFA title. By allowing players to focus on their own team rather than the celebration of a rival, the game's playerbase should have an easier time keeping a cool head even as the ball flies right past their goalie's.
